I have an issue with the moderaton of viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8823&start=730#p140377.

TotalyMeow's decision to ban players, without warning, for so much as quoting a post that was by no means offensive is ridiculous. The part of the post that appearently was such a horrid crime it required the immediate ban of all those who dare reply to it consisted of a 2 word chatsnippet, which was not phrased as an insult.
I'll not repeat it, since that'll probably just be used as an excuse to ban me again. However, the chat snippet contained nothing that isn't used by many in random chatting. Since it was, as far as I can tell, not used as an insult I don't see why bans are warranted for posting it.

Since the word filter doesn't work on images, players need to try and filter images before they post them if they contain chat. I think it's been mentioned enough times now that everyone that is a regular here understands this.

I didn't see the images, so don't know what words were present. I can think of a lot of offensive things players use in chat regularly, thus making that a poor defense.

Another note: it's just plain considered poor etiquette to quote images. Just make a habit of clipping them out. It takes up space people have to scroll through to see what is usually a one line comment.

The snippet was tiny, cropped down to just the 2 words taking almost no space. While I agree for clear offensive language, in this case the language was far from purely offensive, I've ran into many people using the word in a manner similar to "bro". Ill include the original text in a spoiler since it is very much relevant to this issue. Inside the spoiler to prevent scarring the souls of the innocent reading this forum.

The chat snippet stated "wtf *****'

First, we have a word filter set up for people that don't want to see these words (or those still young enough to require parental supervisions). Second, that is still considered a racial slur, and street spelling of the word or not, the "takin' it back" idea or not, too many people still can't stand to hear anyone use it.

I feel that us not being able to use the word is reverse racism.

Eh, when used as a racial slur it's generally spelled correctly and preceded by an insult. In any case, I have never had so much as a single brush with breaking the rules in the 2 years I've been registered here. An instant ban over something so minor, assuming it was an infraction, is still ridiculous.

"14. Do not post images containing profanity. "

2. vulgar or irreverent action, speech, etc

vul·gar [vuhl-ger] Show IPA
adjective
1.
characterized by ignorance of or lack of good breeding or taste: vulgar ostentation.
2.
indecent; obscene; lewd: a vulgar work; a vulgar gesture.
3.

You are welcome. It is evident that this was not a case of #MODABUSE, but a case of #MODUSE.

I am unsure whether this should go here, but I just got this message:

Why can't we report posts twice? That way it should be pretty obvious multiple people have issue with it ... Even if it stays within a single report report (get it?) it is more obvious that multiple people take offense at what was said.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
