I too had my signature removed, but I was actually given notice.

I now have this new one, so all is good.

As it stands currently, we have forum behavior limited to forum discipline. However, in-game behavior can result in both in-game and forum discipline.

Do you also use a different proxy for every account you have?

Right, one last swing at the whole Claeyt situation :

This post is not meant to be an actual complaint on the ban as I have no clue what actually went down. As far as I gather at this point the only way Claeyt's associates have to sway the decision would be to boycott the game, and wether they feel that's necessary is their prerogative.

As far as I'm concerned, and I'd like to believe some other people are in the same boat, my only issue with the hush hush nondiscussable epicly long ban is that quite frankly it makes me wonder : "If I don't know what X did wrong to get such a lengthy ban, how might I avoid such a ban myself". I mean I don't have the habit of purposefully trying to cross the line, but as you guys have said before, most people will try to keep the drama alive despite of the new rules and push the rules to their limits. Without info on who got banned for what specific thing he did, how does one know just how sensitive a mod / dev is to a particular offense?

Either way this is just one last abstract thought on the matter that likely doesn't even warrant a response, but the gist of it is :

tl;dr Holy firetruck, six months? That has to have been some major rulebreaking.

The addition of that rule is exactly how it looks, an attempt to prevent discussion of what was and is a ban of unwarranted length. They ask that we now PM them to discuss matters of in-game punishment yet John already stated this:

What would be the point of even sending a PM only to receive a response that it can't be spoken about? In my opinion what they are essentially saying is, "We're in charge now and we do what we want to who we want when we want, shut up and leave the subject alone."

I don't care if anyone thinks this guy has all of the sudden "put on his big boy pants," Tribe **** all over this forum and game on a daily basis and to now reprimand others for behaviour that was not nearly as poor as their own is truly the definition of hypocritical.

It was. As for your concern that you may accidentally find yourself in the situation, I can assure you bans are escalated. Players should find that the way to get a longer ban would be to directly do and break rules when you have been explicitly told they are against the rules and make a decision to do or continue the action anyway. As for needing to know why another player is banned to know if you are breaking the rules. That should not be the case. The rules are in several places on theses forums as well as the EULA. Of course there is always the added option of just sending a PM on question-able action as well.

Although I share your distrust towards MM, especially seeing what **** they were capable of in the past, I see nothing wrong in what you quoted. It's common practice on all forums and MMOs that bans are not discussed in public. They can be discussed in private by people directly affected by the ban. I assume that's what they meant by discussing in-game punishments in PMs.

You know that jwhitehorn is really good at spinning. I guess the only thing left is to either hope he's not dumb and petty enough to ***** with the community this way, now that he's head of the defvelopment, or just leave.
