Seems like we would lighten the load on the client by having the server calculate these values independently, and then push that variable to the client. This way you don't need to pull each time and calculate it all client-side. We will do our best to investigate something like this in the future.

Fixed the width of the window a bit.

@JC: it's a very ugly implementation (the tt.res file loaded code into the default package, preventing me from overwriting it in the client and hooking there, so I had to resort to the Reflection API). I wouldn't mind that information from the server, but I suppose it's fine for me now.

on a side note: someone also sent me a pull request for a "fix" on homestead pointers. I accepted it in good faith and it turned out to actually introduce some pointer issues. The changes have been unmade.

As a result, I will now require a PM on the forums or a nice explanation on your pull request about what exactly it fixes, before I merge them. The homestead pointer was a relatively harmless example for me to learn my lesson, luckily.

As a general reflection, I wish I had some good way to make the code in the resources more easily available to client modders, but I can't quite figure out just how. Half the point in using it is for me to be able to push new code automatically with a server update, after all, so it's important that it is indeed in the resources and that it can change easily.

In reality, I'd really like to put stuff like the GameUI and the character window in resources as well to be able to update game mechanics more easily, but those are like the archetypes of code that one would want to mod.

Hmm... Dunno if I missed something but when I launch the updater.jar the game can't find the server.

I have deleted all salem stuff of my computer, reinstalled the default client, which works perfectly, relaunched the .jar, redeleted everything, reinstalled the default, downloaded the updater.jnlp, launched it, it works perfectly, and redownloaded the .jar : nothing.
So er... there. I'm gonna play with the updater.jnlp, but I wonder why the .jar doesn't work anymore. Maybe it's my computer blocking it or something...

Edit : nope, neither the antivirus or the firewall is responsible so... dunno.

so: you can play with the updater.jnlp but not the updater.jar?

And are you able to start the client, but not to connect to the game when you launch the jar? Or are you not able to run the updater itself?

Not sure who's client this is from - but this is the one I am playing on.

Neither mushroom, nor snake bite debuffs are appearing when I have a full and fed up debuff on.
