I have a feeling we're not talking about the same game here :)

Regardless of who the owners are, be it tribe or Chief/Darwoth, they still play the game. So even if JC is not Chief, he is still a salem player who could at any given point abuse his ingame divine powers for his char/faction's benefit.

I should probably read the EULA and check wether there's anything about this in there, but what I'd really like to see is a clause that basically insures us against divine intervention. As long as the devs are still players in the game there's no way anyone can feel safe knowing that their time/money invested into the game can go poof because a dev-endorsed faction, or the devs' actual characters could wreak havoc with GM backing.

I guess you didn't get the memo, nobody seems to care what these developers do as long as they continue to update the game.

Your implied solution of having developers who don't play the game is a bit silly. The developers of Salem have always played, and I would argue that any good game requires developers who do.

[Redacted]

After a recent post by Lord of War, the level of personal stalking in this thread became too much. I also received more than one confirmed complaint of personal information being posted here. As promised, I am issuing a seven day ban to everyone involved and removing all posts on the subject. This thread will also be locked.

It's great that you play the game :) my solution would be a clause in the EULA that says you ARE liable for ingame damages should the damages arise out of you giving people free stat boosts or what have you. Again, i'm not saying this has been or is the case at all, I'd just like for the EULA to protect the End User from such events.

Basically what Juda said, just as long as you keep the dev side of things separate from the player side of things we should be fine, but some sort of assurances would be nice, if only an official promise to not abuse your power and/or bugs the dev team would know of to support any given faction.

I officially promise not to abuse my power to support any given faction. I didn't realize I was under such a microscope for such activities. But if I wanted any one faction to have 1,000 humors, they would have it by now lol. This does not exclude me from giving out items to players who report bugs and are generally deserving of divine intervention. Thus far a Fertile Turkey has been given to:

Darknacht
Blood
Neored9
Alloin
*Name using non english characters*

For reporting bugs to me that have been fixed. I reserve the right to reward players for in-game events, bug finding, and otherwise helpful assistance.

Thus it will be up to you, the community, to determine if you find my rewards merited or abuse.

There is a good argument that I should put in more "cosmetic" items to reward such activities instead of in-game items of higher value. We do intend to do just that in the future.
