That Robert you refer to is a basic lawyer representing them, people do go to a lawyer and say i wanna register a company or whatever and they file all the forms on behalf of their client.

To be perfectly honest is it that big of a deal if chief did buy salem? someone whose played the game and sees whats missing and what it needs to be a great game?

The issue is not whether or not chief bought it (I still suspect he and Darwoth did), but, the fact that they are hiding it.

Huge problem is player base, if people would find out big faction owns the game both in-game and on papers, they would be ... disappointed, in reality its not really a problem when a big fan actually wants the game to succeed.

On more serious note, it doesn't really matter if they did since they are doing awesome job!

Even tho, Chief wasn't THAT MUCH of a douchebag IG. I mean. I've met Darwoth. Chief is an angel compared to him :|

I wholeheartedly agree. Anyone who has paid attention could see that jwhitehorn is a talented individual. He continues to demonstrate that talent as John Carver. I'll have to give jorbtar credit for recognizing that Salem is in good hands with MM Inc.

Also, Yes, I've completely reversed my initial reaction to MM Inc. Why? Because they have given me many reasons to trust their abilities and commitment to Salem. Congrats to MM Inc.

To be completely honest, I think everything is as it should be and for the future of the game we all need to let it go. I hate "Chief." However he has stopped posting and has separated that persona from the forums. Good thing as far as I'm concerned. If Whitehorn is an owner of Salem than great, because he seems to make a better owner than forum member. The update was great. A lot done in a short period of time. A lot of true thought put in to how to make Salem better. I am truly shocked at the work MM inc is putting in and look forward to seeing what will come of Salem. As for Whitehorn not revealing himself, I agree with him there. He needs a new identity separate from "Chief" in which he can be respected. Salem doesn't need MM inc's achievements to be downplayed or tarnished by "Chief's" reputation. I want Salem to become a thriving game full of players. I just think it's finally on its way there.

I played a mud for 20 years. It was/is a pk/permadeath mud. I was big into PK and my char was one of the "baddest" guys on the mud when I was invited to be a builder (on build port) and later creator on the live mud. Basically, when going to the live port, I had to give up all of my former allegiances and in-game connections, be they with enemies or allies. I played that game a hell of a lot longer than this game has been around and I managed to make the break, so even if Chief is JC (which I am not convinced of), I am sure he can do it as well, so long as his first goal is the success of the game.
