Don't want more grind on tool repairs.
And gear is already so very very very hard to make. It takes most people a whole server lifetime to get a set of perfect gear.
Dunno how Biddas managed to get his full set slotted so fast. Either he's been very, very lucky, or he's been using screenies from previous world to make us think he already has a full set.
I play quite a bit, with no lifer tendencies. So far, since server start, I have managed to slot 1 perfect gear piece (and found 1 snakeskull in all the 1000s of stumps I checked).
Decay on clothes? No, please, no.
I'm still fairly new in Salem so I have, in a sense, a privileged view on this things. I get the feeling that some of you, after playing all this time Salem in its half-baked state, eventually accepted it as it is and started to consider it immutable.
I personally consider broken the high chance of failure on slotting items. It looks like a very cheap alternative to durability to me...
Since once you manage to beat the RNG it'll last forever, I'll simply punish you for even trying by making the RNG very harsh on you.
I would very like a fairly high chance of success on slotting gear (because finding high-end artifacts is already difficult enough) and the introduction of wear and maximum durability to keep the industry alive.
Also consider the current situation, if you get a WSS and decide to slot it, you either get an inestimable piece of clothing that will last you until killed or you lose the WSS and ruin the clothing piece. There isn't much choice on your part, you are getting slapped in the face by the game and you are even tempted to say you like it.
On the other end if your chance of success was relatively high (given very high proficiencies) you would end up with the much better choice of "Do I prefer great clothing for the next N months or 1000 silver?".
...and if you failed to slot the item you could also start to think you are being cursed or something...
