What is funny most talkers are from US, while Europe is quite tollerant and just appreciate their history and civilization. You know that European countries under rules of Catholic Church made colonies all over the world not opposite?
That is strange because most people say Church was against new technology and discoveries, but only Europe had canons, armies and ships able to cross oceans back then Europe wasn't discovered by any muhamed or sittingbull or some hindu guy or aboriginal from Australia, but all trading routes to those regions were discovered by Europeans with cross on their chest!

And now people from US a British excolony or if you prefer a country created in artifical way, are trying to teach Europens about racism while US people been racist longer and on much larger scale than any other nation?
USA have no history comparing to most European countries, it was British colony little over 200 years ago, so it is hard for you to understand people from countries that exists more than 1000 years!

What keeps confusing me is that the word 'liberal' has two completely opposite associations in Europe and America.

Here in Europe, at least, here in the Netherlands, 'liberals' is a term reserved for conservative, right wing politicians.
While it seems in the US, 'liberals' is a term used to describe people who are usually regarded as progressive, and on the left wing side of the political spectrum.

I doubt that either of these popular uses of the word still have anyting to do with classical liberal values.
