I'm not sure lying about the developers killing your character is the wisest strategy at this point.

My game crashes when I port or when I try to load him.

It's actually permanently bugged to the character and makes it crash when I try to load or port with it.

So he just up and killed Belethor.

It is statements like this that should make it overwhelmingly clear to yourself why you are wearing said hat. I have done nothing for the sort, yet somehow you have allowed a series of events manifest into some catastrophic event that indeed has not happened. Instead of engaging in your practice and arguing with you void of facts, I instead did some research to investigate, such as loading your account profile page.

You just told me in PM that there is no way to remove the hat without a dev looking into it or me just killing that guy and making a new Belethor. I was randomly crashing with it on last night. You told me yourself that the easiest way would be for me to just kill him and make a new character since he's only around 20 humours and then just not picking up the hat again and let the old Belethor decay.

This character took me months of work to make. I had over 800 memorizations, 200 kins and many, many political notes in the mem's. His kin list is the best source for non-tribal members trying to check people trying to join their town or trade with them now that Tradewinds is dead. The only people left with kin/mem lists like that now are Darwoth and the Tribe. You've basically ruined all that work I did over the last 3 months collecting all that intel and character connections.

You've said your character is a merchant, by which I infer you don't use him for labor and have no intention of using him as a fighter. The loss of the artifice slots provided by a hat, if this is the case, is of no effect.

Pockets are pretty damn useful for a merchant.

I also told you that there will be an NPC in the first patch that will remove it for you. Why are you not wanting to just wait until July 4th for this option?
