Depending on what country you're in determines whether or not site administrators are supposed to report violations of the law to authorities. I can't recall if the Seatribe servers are in Germany or not, and I don't know if the plan is to move the servers elsewhere or stay where they are (not the right place to discuss this, either.) If they are moved, then that locale will determine what laws need to be followed.
Conclusion: Yeah, someone might have to contact authorities if laws are violated or a belief that laws are violated exists. It's then up to said authorities to determine what further action is taken. Failure to do so could result in some form of sanction against the site administrators from a fine to jail or prison time depending on severity and culpability.

We all know the NSA, CIA, and FBI have access to every bit and byte that floats across the Internet, and same goes for the equivalent services in other countries (ie Britain). Hell, there was an article a while back about authorities monitoring in-game chat channels for criminal acts.
