The point is: it IS illegal in Germany to post or display a Nazi swastika or flag. It's considered rude and racist most everywhere else as a symbol of anti-Semitic activity (and general Aryan superiority). This is why posting it to the forums is against the rules: §2.5. No pornographic, racist or otherwise discriminatory or inappropriate text or images.

Remember folks, context is everything. Without context, all we can do is make assumptions and moderate based on our best guesses and general perceptions of the public.

I can agree. But the thing is that stays here. Rushing off to report a German national who posted a swastika is not any of the staff's authority on this forum.

Otherwise feel free to have all staff give the nation in-which they reside in as public knowledge. I'm sure we can find something to report them on that goes against their national law. As reporting a player is no different. Criminal activity? Sure, report it. Speech, writing, or images? Reporting that is childish and against the basic tenets of Western civilization.
Do you know what stops the monsters at night from creeping in? Darkness from taking your soul over? Lack of morals from setting in six feet deep? Bourbon.

You guys should add a disclaimer about how we may have our "secure forum" infiltrated by secret police... Hey, it happens

Depending on what country you're in determines whether or not site administrators are supposed to report violations of the law to authorities. I can't recall if the Seatribe servers are in Germany or not, and I don't know if the plan is to move the servers elsewhere or stay where they are (not the right place to discuss this, either.) If they are moved, then that locale will determine what laws need to be followed.

Conclusion: Yeah, someone might have to contact authorities if laws are violated or a belief that laws are violated exists. It's then up to said authorities to determine what further action is taken. Failure to do so could result in some form of sanction against the site administrators from a fine to jail or prison time depending on severity and culpability.

We all know the NSA, CIA, and FBI have access to every bit and byte that floats across the Internet, and same goes for the equivalent services in other countries (ie Britain). Hell, there was an article a while back about authorities monitoring in-game chat channels for criminal acts.

Free Speech and Free Thought are NOT myths. However if you do say something offensive towards someone who is next to you, specially someone powerful, do expect to have a punishment equally strong as whatever offensive word you did use, lol.

Like, for example, the government?
That's exactly it. Free speech and free thought are myths, you get put to jail just for having a specific opinion.

Go bleat somewhere else, sheep.
