Unrelated to recent events, all bans both permanent and temporary, have been reversed. This is not to be implied that such actions will be tolerated in the future. More-so, a simple fresh start and second chance for previous forum criminals.

I have been mildly intrigued by the new team's goals and ambitions for Salem. Best of luck to them. I would even say that I've entertained hopeful ideas vis-a-vis Salem's future. But then I read the forums again. And right there and then I see that the same toxic atmosphere that drove me and few other players away (besides the lack of improvement in the games' mechanics, and the game's own devs' utter lack of care and interest for it) is still very much present and alive.

If the new management team doesn't see such names as "Chief PeePooKaka" as being profoundly racist and insulting, and keeps tolerating them (even with a new set of forum's rules in place claiming that text or images that disparage religions, races, genders, age groups, or sexual orientations will not be tolerated) I see no way but, if that's possible, even further down for Salem. Thankfully so.

Just another reason why it was a poor decision to hide their identities. Normally there would be no issue discussing this kind of thing with the developers but if the developers are the same people you're complaining about well I find it hard to believe they'll suddenly change their opinions about the nature of their own play-style and the representation of the characters they portray.

I just wanted to mention that I've talked to TotalyMeow about my ban and we agreed that while my posts weren't against the rules they were toxic to the forum. As a result the rules have been expanded and she apologized for her heavy-handed and weak-minded ban.

Such butthurt. Yes, I clarified the Moderator Impersonation rule to say that deleting mod edits is also impersonation, which I would have thought went without saying but then again this is a forum. You did break the rules twice, don't do that any more and you won't get banned.

You don't see that name as being racist or insulting? Merely childish?

How about when the person behind that name uses broken English to express him/herself? Don't you find that a wee bit offensive and deriding of his/her avatar's supposed culture and ethnic group? Don't you see that it plays up racist stereotypes of Native-Americans as being stupid? What if the character's name was referring to a supposed Jewish avatar but used words like ****, piss, and garbage to make up its name? Would that be childish to you too? Or how about a black avatar called Monkey? Would that be childish to you too?

I haven't broken any rules. That is why you expanded the rules in both cases to suit you. I wish you the best in your journey from a novice and bias mod to hopefully a competent one.

I'm about 30% Shawnee and I'm dying to know how he's being racist... How does that name portray "me" as stupid? Chief peepookaka is as offensive as rabbi *****?
