Sounds like a good idea to me. I like the idea of including rewards that offer no actual advantage but are nice to show off, or have stolen.

Oh, I don't want to interrupt this idea, but I would like to propose a slightly different version of that...

What if we implemented a "developer Achievement award"??

It could work like this: for every game like thing that the developers can show the community (I'd be happy with a stupid forum word game) we give them a point. Maybe we can have bonus points for things like "with sprites" ( 2points) and "it has a networking element similar to a freaking websocket/ajax chat room ( 3 points) (even a single user chat room that shows the fictional character MushMouth created by jorb knows how to use javascript to modify DOM elements ( I know not sexy and all MMO-like with cool weapon models, so only 2 points for that).

If they reach 1 point within 24 hours they get to call themselves developers. if they get 10 points in 24 hours I'll shut the ***** up and take Claeyt with me lol

*****, don't you people see, I've made more games in this forum in the last 48 hours (check himmnoned threads for one of my best) just trying to convince you jorbtar were ***** up and that the fictional character MushMouth created by jorb is a charlatan.

the fictional character MushMouth created by jorb is playing with toys he thinks are way cool, but he isn't a game developer

The funny thing that at this point, the best that the fictional character MushMouth created by jorb can hope for is to lay claim to the achievement by doing something that can be viewed and recreated in a 5 min youtube video. How does one make a claim that they are developers without having a single game like element associated with them, and by "game" I mean a mechanic and a game space (could be anything from a forum the text messaging to a persistent world (not even 3d, how about a text based open world)

Not one single fun thing to offer us to say hey "we like to make games and we love it when you play them"

I think the fictional character MushMouth created by jorb likes to play in jorb's dirty laundry basket, but I don't think he has a passion for game design or he would have begged us to see his work. No excuses for that.

It's a good thing that he doesn't actually need your approval for anything, then, isn't it? ^^

Gates. What's the point of the rest of your defence when the raider can pile 2 on at your gates? Is there a way to make it where a gate counts as one segment?
Currently the way you use now is the way they use, it's pointless.

Armor and Weapons. can quality be ACTUALLY related to damage/damage soak? Finding the highest iron mine in all the lands for those extra damage points.

Wall Splash. This could possibly be a witch spell you enchant your weapon with? Or just do away with it entirely, it's something magical that should be a spell.

Brass Knuckles. make them have quality, and quality be related to damage. That way if someone wanted to specialize in melee, they have that option. Currently the pvp game mostly revolves around thrust/leap at/stomp leaving a dozen or so other skills that are useless to the game.

World Bosses: Something like the wurm online dragons, it would require several villages or one EXTREMELY large village to take one down. Loot would be something you can craft for rare armor.
Super long, random respawn times. Take an argopelter, increase it's size/stats/damage, give it some minion argopelters and give it a name, done. Do the same with the other lumberwoods creatures. You can be murdered.
Would give the game an endgame pve aspect instead of just a focus on raiding like it is now ( which isn't really a bad thing :P) It could just be another part of the game.

While most of these ideas are great, I'm particularly interested in the world boss part. The (possibly fake) leaked screenshot of the Cthulhu model made into a real, living creature would be so ***** awesome. I can already think up some sort of madness mechanic for Cthulhu specifically, but I won't go into detail about that.
Something deep or funny

Greetings all and welcome new developers.

1. jorb and loftar I love you guys please don't go away.

2. I really hope that with the upcoming new changes someone gathers the courage to rise up against us. We are waiting ; )

3. Please end moderator abuse. It isn't alright for moderators to ban people they do not like simply because they do not like them. I have deserved every ban I have gotten but some of my friends are not so fortunate. It isn't alright for moderators to abuse their power for self satisfaction.

I love this game and will help in any way I can. Far and away, the best prize life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.

Is there a way to make it one tile. Sure. But we don't see the effort of doing so high priority and we don't necessarily dislike the two guys on a gate mentality. To us it adds more strategy as a whole to have an idea where your attacker will be most rewarded to attack.

Realak wrote:Armor and Weapons. can quality be ACTUALLY related to damage/damage soak? Finding the highest iron mine in all the lands for those extra damage points.

Yes we want damage and soak modifiers in combat.

Realak wrote:Wall Splash. This could possibly be a witch spell you enchant your weapon with? Or just do away with it entirely, it's something magical that should be a spell.

While I see your point that it breaks immersion. We did think it was an ingenious solution to the wallspam issues of the past and don't want to get rid of it without making sure layers of walls don't reappear.

We like the idea of spiked and brass knuckles and very much want to tweak and modify the combat system values. Our biggest hurdle has been why should a person with a sword prevail over a person without?

We are intrigued by the idea of unique bosses. But this is definitely in the 2015 bin if implemented.

How about some in game music. There's tons of free stuff out there to put into the game. I've always hated the lack of sound in the game. Games like 'Don't Starve' are so much better with good music.
