Explain to me your goal; what do you seek to accomplish by snuffing out any attempt for this game to grow by wiping out any players that don't sign under your 'treaty'? And I mean seriously, none of this 'criminal' stuff, a legit answer as why ANY of you think this is a good idea in any way.

Your question could be interpreted a few ways.

If you meant "explain to me your goal [as the Tribe]..."
The Tribe's goals are somewhat ambiguous (there is no Tribal Mission Statement), but among them is the intent to be the sole dominant power in Providence. You and the other fellows crying foul in this thread and others are missing the point entirely. Killing you was not about showing our dominance over you. Killing you was about showing our dominance over our detractors. Our foes knew where Mikus was today. They knew what he was doing. They wanted him to stop, and were incapable of doing anything about it. There are a lot of propagandists on these forums who will try to convince new players (and on some level, themselves) that the Tribe over-represents our dominance; that we are not as uncontested as we claim. Things like today prove otherwise. Tribal Braves and Horde affiliates can walk off the Boston Claim to collect scalps at their leisure - everyone else must act as a jackal, and sneak off when the predators are not looking.

If you meant "explain to me your goal [as an individual in the Tribe]..."
My goal as an individual is to maintain the grow the power of my chosen group, and ensure it is capable of achieving its goals regardless of changing circumstances or opposition. I chose the Tribe because it had an ambitious spirit, members who showed tenacity, plenty of room for improvement, and the potential for me to quickly exert a large amount of influence over the group's operations. The Tribe's overall goals are not the ones I would choose were I starting my own faction, but as I made the choice to join the Tribe, I strive to help the group achieve these goals as I am able, for that is the obligation I took upon myself when I joined. I don't regret this decision - the Tribe is a great group of folks who work well together and are highly competent. Our average member would be a "rock star" in any other faction. Working with this group has allowed me to maintain competencies that might otherwise rust - logistics, tactics, strategy, and training. I get no personal satisfaction from scalping randoms, but I do get satisfaction from seeing Mikus wreak havoc at his leisure.

A side benefit is the wailing, gnashing of teeth, and rending of garments, from people like Claeyt/Jalpha/Kaios. They swim in the Chief's ocean, and their rage is pleasing to see. It's fun to watch Claeyt post outraged nonsense based off an inflated sense of entitlement - Jalpha repeatedly make claims of some other group coming to save the day without ever taking action himself - Kaios just being his unfortunate self. That's not enough in itself, but along with the rest, it makes for a nice side bonus.

So, to put it plainly, you did it because you could. To prove that you could. Through the well-written reply, thats all it really boils down to. You do it because you can, and you enjoy seeing it happen. That doesn't really help your tribe look any better. What will you do when there is nobody else to 'dominate'? When your total destruction has chased away all but the most faithful, if it hasn't already done so, what will you do? Will you sit on a throne of stagnation and nothingness, or will you move on, leaving Salem an empty husk that nobody wants to touch with a ten-foot pole due to past experiences? Either way you look at it, when there is no competition things end badly. And 'asserting dominance' only makes things worse. Also, after chatting with a few of your tribe members here, I highly doubt they are all as good as you say, as people with such attitudes don't exactly shine a good light on your faction either.

That's a subset of what I said, but you're still missing the big picture.

I never said 'dominate,' so it shouldn't have quotations around it. I said 'dominant' which is similar, but not the same. That aside, when there's nobody else we just sit back until the next batch come in.

I don't find either of these statements true, or even halfway convincing.

Your opinion on this is not very relevant, especially with a history to draw on. One Mikus destroyed your group as Claeyt watched. One Binks turned back 8 Russians when they tried to jump Darwoth. One Brona sent Goat running with his tail between his legs (he didn't make it). One Badger took the first 100+ humor scalp. One Chief scalped five Ainrain members in a single battle. One Biddas causes the Russians to cower and cast about desperately for allies. Doubt what you will, no one's willing to face a Brave in single combat.

I'd also like to state that English is not the native language for all of our members.
It is hard to express one's self as eloquently as PMP having not spoken the language from birth.

Obviously I don't get the big picture because all I see is a group of people with the entirety of the game pressed firmly under their thumb. And when I asked the question about 'dominating' people, I meant when the people stop coming in general. When you have gone through one too many new players and kicked them out the door before they knew what was on the other side.

what happens when there is no competition? There is a monopoly. You wouldn't see the issue because you are part of it, but all it does is crush everything else around it until eventually there is nothing left to monopolize. and yes, asserting dominance makes things worse. It chases people away, which results in less players, which means more power for the winning side, and perpetuates itself forever.

As for who I was chatting with, I more meant attitude, not their combat prowess. And besides the 100+ humor scalp, there is no strength, only numbers, which as was finely exampled by Mikus, can simply end in a blood bath. And, as I said people with such poor attitudes tend to make your group look worse. You look like a group of thugs and bandits with crude behavior and only think of oneself. If some people were more well mannered and level-headed, not only would you look better, but chances are something like the massacre wouldn't have happened as a more level-headed Mikus would have waited for the go-ahead. And then what would have happened? Why, you would have had roughly 20-40 more people as part of the Tribe, depending on how many stuck to the game. And then you'd be able to show off your dominance even more. But no, Mikus came in and destroyed everything, not only hurting the game, but hurting your reputation as well.
