This...

I've known these people in the tribe for going on 2 years now and most of them really do hate this game. Some things keep them playing. One, The game is unique and has great potential. Two, It's very easy to be in the tribe once you're in it, it's much harder to run your own town or build your own dream. Three, They are all followers. Every single tribal member is perfectly fine with being an sycophantic underling to the Chief even though he's barely playing anymore

You're clueless again. No one is in the tribe and playing Salem that doesn't love the game. Your reason 'one' is part of the reason we do love it and keeps us playing, yes.

Reason 'two' is kind of silly though. Yeah, it's easy to stay in the tribe because you have to work pretty hard to get in in the first place so by the time you get there you will fit in. If you don't fit in, you won't make it. And the rules are pretty simple anyway. You really have to go out of your way to break them. And who says you can't 'build your own dream' in the tribe? Is this another of those things you pulled out of your ass?

No one is a sycophantic follower of the chief. I can't really point to our vent conversations as proof since you'll never hear them, but we definitely do argue and disagree until we do agree.

Ok just one more post. Perhaps not sycophantic, but you cannot deny that those who are in the tribe are also the most annoying and egotistical members of this community.

I do find it funny how, as my patience at dealing with his lack of attempting to understand a word I said, his use of words just spiraled as well into just expletives and insults. And this is the core of the game. I honestly feel sorry for the developers; how do you deal with a game when you're only players are the ones who are scaring everybody away?

What patience? You willfully ignored all my logic, advice, and explanations. Then claim I don't understand your tears. You are the one that started with the insults, baseless ones even. You can't feel sorry for the developers, you don't even know what they want. If they didn't want the players murdering people like you they would change the game. I wouldn't be surprized if Jorb came in here and told you shut up or GTFO.

Here's something for you to take it, spoilers, that's the game's dev post.

Good evening,
DirtyOldHobo wrote:I have a question directly targeted at you. What is the point of all this? Explain to me your goal; what do you seek to accomplish by snuffing out any attempt for this game to grow by wiping out any players that don't sign under your 'treaty'? And I mean seriously, none of this 'criminal' stuff, a legit answer as why ANY of you think this is a good idea in any way.

Your question could be interpreted a few ways.

If you meant "explain to me your goal [as the Tribe]..."
The Tribe's goals are somewhat ambiguous (there is no Tribal Mission Statement), but among them is the intent to be the sole dominant power in Providence. You and the other fellows crying foul in this thread and others are missing the point entirely. Killing you was not about showing our dominance over you. Killing you was about showing our dominance over our detractors. Our foes knew where Mikus was today. They knew what he was doing. They wanted him to stop, and were incapable of doing anything about it. There are a lot of propagandists on these forums who will try to convince new players (and on some level, themselves) that the Tribe over-represents our dominance; that we are not as uncontested as we claim. Things like today prove otherwise. Tribal Braves and Horde affiliates can walk off the Boston Claim to collect scalps at their leisure - everyone else must act as a jackal, and sneak off when the predators are not looking.

If you meant "explain to me your goal [as an individual in the Tribe]..."
My goal as an individual is to maintain the grow the power of my chosen group, and ensure it is capable of achieving its goals regardless of changing circumstances or opposition. I chose the Tribe because it had an ambitious spirit, members who showed tenacity, plenty of room for improvement, and the potential for me to quickly exert a large amount of influence over the group's operations. The Tribe's overall goals are not the ones I would choose were I starting my own faction, but as I made the choice to join the Tribe, I strive to help the group achieve these goals as I am able, for that is the obligation I took upon myself when I joined. I don't regret this decision - the Tribe is a great group of folks who work well together and are highly competent. Our average member would be a "rock star" in any other faction. Working with this group has allowed me to maintain competencies that might otherwise rust - logistics, tactics, strategy, and training. I get no personal satisfaction from scalping randoms, but I do get satisfaction from seeing Mikus wreak havoc at his leisure.

A side benefit is the wailing, gnashing of teeth, and rending of garments, from people like Claeyt/Jalpha/Kaios. They swim in the Chief's ocean, and their rage is pleasing to see. It's fun to watch Claeyt post outraged nonsense based off an inflated sense of entitlement - Jalpha repeatedly make claims of some other group coming to save the day without ever taking action himself - Kaios just being his unfortunate self. That's not enough in itself, but along with the rest, it makes for a nice side bonus.

Do as you please, I'm not too concerned about it. Welcome to Salem!
