Someone who isn't a ***** explained my mistake, so now I understand.

1. You still might be dead even if you had put silver in your claim stone.

2. Essentially putting silver in claim stone is paying rent for the land you claim. If you don't pay the rent- you don't own it and any ******* can destroy your hard work and effort.

3. IF you had paid rent and still been wiped; the attacker would have left scents that you could have then used ( via an alt [new alts of same account inherit deceased holdings]) to get retribution and/or another more developed player could have assisted you with.

4. Base defenses have been well documented; they are ONLY worthwhile if 'RENT' has been paid. They are currently OP.. so being caught w/o is literally the biggest goof possible.

5. Building them and not paying rent is a waste of time. Any idiot with 100+ biles can chop through any defense where there is no active claim.

6. Again, if you neglect to research basic defense and pay rent... you got killed. I don't particularly care for your executioner... but if it'd been me... I would have killed you too. Paying rent is life here... if you can't be bothered... you don't belong here. Move along.

Mix a little bit of this with a bit of the fact that your playing a permadeath, pvp, full loot game, sprinkle over top of the "I don't like the game mechanics of the game I'm playing cake, and bake until the next guy posts this exact same thing. (happens about, what? Twice a week or so?)

in the year I've played (and I'm not alone here) I lost exactly 1 chest of items, my own fault for not being familiar with a claim stone at the time. Other than that, its not nearly as easy to loose everything as you previously stated.. If you were interested in learning the game, I refer you to sevenless's guide on how to play. Otherwise, don't complain about the basic game mechanics that keep the rest of us playing
