Jorb where are you?!

Postby Frakked » Sun May 04, 2014 8:39 am

Bogus post to be sure...

Can't help noticing that server population is dropping rapidly and wondering if Jorb is even aware of it.

It was >300 2 months ago

Four weeks ago was just >100

Tonight I checked and it was <100... 55 folks online. At 3AM EST... it's back up to 66... but still a far cry from 100.

Kinda curious what the Main Dev has to say about this~ even a "I don't give a ****" would be a statement... but instead it's a total blank.

Personally- it's a mix of dev indifference mixed with tribe's racist abuse. The kind that UCLA would have this game banned and/or brand US players for life for playing.

Gives me second thoughts...

Where is Jorb...and/or when will he weigh in on current events?!

Well we know that Jorb doesn't care. I stopped playing because of the Tribe's racist abuse though too.

Problems are no trading system, then you have to wait to glut and study. Devs don't communicate, players are ignored, and updates are rare. List continues onto minor issues such as sound effects, camera control (wears out wheel mouse button fast), unstable client. Inferior client in comparison to 3rd party, hitboxes, goofy combat system, unstackable items, thus a lot of walking back and forth. Gate control, should auto-close after some time passes, Indicators to study system that shows penalties when studying an object or at least let you know you've studied that one before. Horses, cows, witchcraft, broken fishing system, expand shift key to include planting and refilling buckets. That's good enough list for now.

As for population, you can expect it to drop below the average last year. Gamers are a needy bunch and if you bore them they leave.

As you may or may not know we maintain and build more than one game, our other object of interest being Haven & Hearth. Haven was the first game we built, and we are currently in the process of remaking it. For the forseeable future that project will be our first priority.

As for this racism you seem to detect somewhere (where?), I'm not much of a believer in the secular religions of modernity (liberalism, progressivism, socialism, &c), so I cannot honestly say that I consider matters pertaining to racial discrimination as meriting any special consideration as such, other than as instances of simple incivility and rudeness. If someone somewhere is being excessively discourteous, or otherwise in breach of reasonable decorum, you may report the posts in question for moderation using this handy icon displayed next to each post:

can't you please just sell salem to someone else who would give it the love it deserves, since you won't?

you're seeming like a woman who has a baby then neglects it, lets it starve etc because she has a drug problem or whatever, but won't put it up for adoption to a loving family because 'its hers'.

I am glad you like the game, and consider it a baby worthy of attention! So do I, really, but the day only has so many hours, and the world has more than one hungry baby. Simply maintaining the game is not much of an effort, however, so we are in no immediate rush to get out of the project either. If some kind patrician came along wanting to offer all parties considered due compensation for the game then perhaps there could be room for deliberations on such a matter, but until that situation actually materializes I do not see much recourse other than our keeping keeping on.

To the extent that it is possible you might perhaps consider simply enjoying the game for what it is.

I LOVE the game, as do a lot of people, and we keep trying to enjoy it for what it is. But pretty much everyone enjoyed it a lot more for what it was and i'm constantly saddened to see more and more people i knew playing less, and then leaving. *Prays for this 'kind patrician' saviour to come*

There we have it. We finally hear what we didn't want to hear. Jorb I have always supported your game since the closed beta. The game concept is great. But the current state of the game needs help. The only people left are the true people who love the game. So I guess for all of us it is play as it is or don't play at all. Wow never thought you would leave us on a cliff like that.

I for one will never leave the game no matter how broken, boring, or tedious it may be. Hell if I wait long enough maybe I will be the only one----the true Queen muhahaha!

Oh great savior, we pray to you to save our game since the developers won't.
