Could some food values be simplified?

Postby Impaler » Tue Mar 25, 2014 5:17 am

Food items currently have a LOT of stats, and while this is great and all I wonder if their might be instances were simplification is possible without reducing the depth of the food/gluttony system.

As I look at the healing values on food I see that food has a healing value for each Humor, yet most foods heal equal or very nearly equal amounts of each humor. Their are a few notable exceptions like Goldtila but the general trend seems to be that getting your humors restored is not an activity that the player really needs to be selective in what they eat. Indeed I generally don't spend one centilla of the attention and planning that I apply to gluttony when I am just scarfing Frikadels for humor recoup, and when I do it is to decide what food should be preserved for Gluttony as that is the most pressing concern. Thus it looks like their would be no real loss in making all food items uniform in their healing across all 4 humors and simply having one value presented to the player, the 'heal rate' which is always applied to each humor.

Lots of foods have very different heal values and there is no reason to simplify it just because you can't be bothered to learn what is best to regen different humours.
