It finished just as i posted this, and lasted about 10~ mins, as i was endlessly just teleporting between home and town emptying inventory after inventory as i run around.

Always used to do this on Plymouth when game first come into open beta.

oh this reminds me some old MMO events, but there was pickup key and no body collision... Salem must be really hardcore to pick stuff in a crowd
