iamah wrote:wow, this changes everything, seems to me is much better to protect one single brazier than have 2 sharing damage output... great job!

would be nice if jorb could confirm this just to be sure there's nothing missing

I posted this in another thread in CoH and Jorb just corrected the 40k bb amount. He basically said it was 40k but that it was randomized somehow and not a fixed amount. He basically confirmed my other calculations.

jorb wrote:Apologies. The base damage is 40k, but I realize that this number doesn't mean much to you as damage is then randomized and combobulated in more ways than one to arrive at the final number.

is example 3 really possible?

i thought if 2 braziers hit at the same time it means they're in the same range and therefore each would make 50% dmg

double damage would be a hell of an exception to the damage formula

it's not an exception, it's easier to think of the 2 braziers or clusters creating their own damage base if they're both in range of the attacker but not in range of each other. It's complicated but the important thing to see is that the braziers are outside of each other's range and because of that they do more damage.

ah, so for 2 braziers to be considered a "cluster" their distance must be 11.5 or less? I was thinking 23 or less...

The Tribe spoke to Jorb and did conclude that he spoke to Claeyt, however, he also confirmed that Claeyt's post here has information that is more than 33% inaccurate. Please be advised that if you are using this as "fact" you will most likely mess up your base design. The best thing to do at this point is to test the mechanics yourself to be sure in your direction.

After talking to Jorb I was a little confused because he used 11.5 but I think I've confirmed that it actually is 23 feet between Braziers. I've changed all my numbers to 23.

No I was wrong about the 11.5 hex range, instead it's 23 hexes as a range. Also it's randomized for base damage.

You are wrong about a LOT more than that... but this is a good start. Why not just ask the mods to lock the thread and stop misleading noobs until you test it yourself and figure it out?

I'm going by what Jorb told me. If you cared at all about the game you'd help new players to understand braziers and defense. Because you give 2 ***** about growing this game, you won't help here. Instead you can sit back and hurt the game while new players try and figure this out while you pick them off one by one.

If you can prove me wrong then do it. Or STFU and stop trolling the help thread.
