You may need to pave - some biomes don't allow certain structures.

Is copper of any value on my level?
How does it trade for iron?

i have this problem too with a copper mine

terrain tool says the area is flat, theres nothing around it but you cant build, it's forest terrain

i think its a bug, maybe there's no real copper point there, hence the error... i think this because i found quite a few mine points close to each other, so maybe it's a fake mine point

Try digging and then level it off with the same dirt you just dug.

I was going to dump all good items I had in Boston case I lost so much on idiotic woo bug and honestly I dont need to be irritated by game
I have wife to do this.
BUT miraculously I was able to place Mine ent (iron) on first try!
(just to discover I dont have silver to buy mats for smelter and pickaxe)
Its seems I had to play a bit with placement inside 3x3
Now I try to place smelter and have same issue. Area is flat. I paved it but no luck.
Is there a rules? like its has to be 3 cells clear all around? or it has to be on claimed land?

Ore smelter is like 4x5 area? Just dig up dirt then reapply it to same area to get dirty ground.

Use shift and the scroll wheel to align building placement to the grid.
