It's a psychological disorder.
Part of them knows they are just griefers, but part of them doesn't want to acknowledge this.
It leads to split personalities. When they make an alt it sometimes "owned" by the first personality, and the second personality panically wants to get rid of it, like of the proof of guilt. So the alt is called criminal and is executed.

You shouldn't be so blunt about it, Dallane, it may end badly when the patient realizes this and may snap.
So be considerate and just call it criminalt.
