i don't understand why devs implement crime scents and allow murder vaults to exist... is it a bug? just make scents summon the murder far out of any vault/fortress and problem solved... but instead you have crime scents thrown away at Boston like trash because it's probably inside some vault so who cares

MisterTuggles wrote:Jorb/Loftar need to figure out a way to implement a stat debuff for killing people. I.e. make them lose 50% humors for the duration of the scents left. Or better yet, anyone with murder/battery scents around gets put in jail as soon as they land in Boston. This would keep those asshats from just running away like little girls after they take a camp of lowbies down. This would also keep the rampant noob killing to a minimum, and might acutally make this game "fun" as brand new players won't be OHKO'ed by the people who have no lives. That in turn might actually bolster the population to more than 20-30 people on at a time.

I would agree that it would be nice if there was some game mechanic price to killing someone, but this isn't the solution. I think the solution should involve churches and darkness, the more people you kill the less you can stand being in civilised territory and so start to receive humor drain the closer you are to Boston instead of further away. But anyway, thats a discussion for the Ideas forum.

I hope there are enough factions to fight amongst themselves rather than one to rule them all.

so are murder vaults intended by the devs? cause i really don't see the point of scents if you can lock your murder away and sleep peacefully

Impenetrable vaults are not intended, but vaults built by abusing bugs will get nuked by jorbtar. Vengeance is not free, you have to put in some effort. Raise your humours and break into the murder's vault.

They should try to add a belief system simular to haven but actually functional instead of broken; that would allow people to retain a % of ancestors skills like everyone does now in haven (and its not considered carebear!), but make it specific to only peaceful players.

so it might perminantly lock you out of black skills, but make death slightly less painful. and be on automatically at start for poor newbies!
