Items you can only get from fish (isenglass), easy early variety foods. I forget what else. It's just advantages of fishing in general.


Also, you don't have to actually fish or do anything but gather the bait, which would seem to be just random food. You have to craft lures and that takes leg work too. Once we know what will actually attract what fish, I suspect this will be somewhat desirable, especially if you can reliably catch good fish without much effort, just waiting.

Of course, it also adds the complication of securing your fishing traps, lest people jack them, or jack them and spitefully destroy them.

Different fish are used in different recipes. They also have different stats when roasted/dried.
