???: i should have murder almost by now
???: but instead my first gluttony session set me back like 9 hours
???: its like they wanted to even the gap between the grinders and the nabs, but that's not at all how it's going to work
Jordan "Help Desk" Coles: Nope. 200% chance of logging on, grinding or getting KO'd until no inspiration, logging off and never logging on again
Jordan "Help Desk" Coles: Facebook game style
Jordan "Help Desk" Coles: Like really, what new player trying **** out is going to wait however many hours needed to log back in
Jordan "Help Desk" Coles: They'll log out, even with the intention of playing again later
Jordan "Help Desk" Coles: And never remember
Jordan "Help Desk" Coles: Then RIP playerbase

How is Ron Paul's comment not relevant to this thread discussing the newest patch and how it functions?

In fact by saying he was posting irrelevantly, you yourself have derailed this conversation.
you seem to be the one filled with jack's ****

Inspritation is really not that bad, you leave for a couple hours come back to 40-50k to spend.
It does however, encourage the use of alt systems for different needs.

The Inspiration change is a game killer, IMO. Sure I won't be around much longer; but it takes only a few hours to burn through the learning pool... and if your goal of the moment was beyond that... time to log out and wait 2.3 days for your pool to regen... or longer if you BB pool is bigger. That's more than enough time to become infatuated with some other game.

Gluttony is nice change... gives me something to work on.

Two cents.

Hell- might work out great if you are playing other games... whenever I give Salem the time of day...which is likely to be rare... I'll always be at full pool; feel bad for the folks who are wanting to play it all the time.

Lose it... seriously- or lose your population resurgence. I've seen so many players last few days; more than I ever seen. People came back to see if the game was still viable. It's not the 1500 or whatever Darworth was talking about... but this is your Serenity... game-wise. Screw it up and in 1-2 years... next wipe... whenever... folks are not even going to bother.

Burn me once... your fault... burn me twice... my fault... You don't get a third chance.

Make the change soon- lose the Inspiration regen or whatever you end up in the next few weeks is the best Salem will ever be forever more.

The new system is a lot smarter
making it easier to build alts, while limiting character growth, was an awesome idea. Forcing people to make alts so that when they do die they don't lose everything (essentially forcing people to make the smart decision of diversifying their investments)
it was a move that needed to be made, as people leaving the game is mostly due to them losing everything and not wanting to deal with the hassle of making it all again just to lose it again. (in my opinion, as I do not actually have statistics. I have certainly read enough kthxbai stories that share that recurring theme)
They made this game harder for people to grief other people to the point of quitting, and if that makes you feel like quitting it serves you right.

I retract my earlier comment about the world end. Shortly after settling near the border it was expanded, makes me think the map is still generating. @loftar If so, does that mean that you actually have the ability to add new terrains and spawn more map tiles now? That would mean less wipe potential in the future would it not? (meaning that we wouldn't have to worry about you wiping the map because the playerbase just got too high or you wanted to add a new area with a special type of tree/berry)

Forcing people to use the tools that are provided, less wipe potential, more defined progression rate, sounds like a leap-at in the right direction

unfortunately like so many others you have no idea what you are talking about due to getting the majority of your "knowledge" from troll posts on the forums instead of experience.

Hey I got killed by Tribe and stuck it out... and I'm saying... there's no reason to stick it out this time. I don't have any issue with Gluttony... but Inspiration is a game killer for me.

I wasn't planning on sticking it out regardless having opted for a theme-park game... TESO. Still, it's 30+ days away; and I'm already looking for something else... NOT Salem to fill the time with.

It should be a wake up call; that it's not will be Salem's loss over time.

Great you love it- hope you still feel that way when population dwindles to the <50 peeps at any particular time of day or less if Tribe gets their way.

Like I said- Salem doesn't shine now... there's no next time.
