That's the biggest question now. Will he leave. The biggest compromise we could hope for I think is him resigning and a moderate taking his place. The constitutional changes being changed back and elections being held a year early.

Unlike Syria this isn't a violent multi-generational dictatorship. This is a partial/new democracy that a faction has taken off the rails. A no confidence vote or a change in leadership is all that's needed.

Proof of Police shooting unarmed protesters is coming out. They used armor piercing bullets to get through their sheet metal shields. As you can see none of them are carrying firearms.

The Interior minister recent statement is that he issued combat weapons after generally unarmed protesters overwhelmed the generally unarmed riot police and took so many police hostage. The police retaliated by opening a free fire on the advancing protesters who were not armed in revenge for those police who had been captured. Running gun battles then broke out with the very few armed protesters that did have guns then occurred.
