One week seems like a fair duration for the ban of somebody who clearly over-reacted to an unjust situation. Will any effort be placed into the infraction that pushed him to that point? I'd prefer to just hear from you magicMan as discussing moderation in this thread had lead to bans in the past I'm just curious. Perhaps PM me?

To insure that the punishment is put in place, more-so, I'd like to introduce the idea of I.P. banning said person. As they've clearly not learned anything from the actions taken against them and see fit to defy their punishment. Evading a ban is punishable the last I checked.

Indeed proxies make ip bans almost moot. The solution is usually to just ban an entire proxy if it becomes a problem, which it has in the past when users were abusing proxies to post child pornography on the haven forums. For the most part nothing is ever serious enough to warrant an ip ban anyway but if it comes down to it, it's just how many times a mod wants to ban a proxy account for ban evasion versus how many times a user wants to use proxies to create new accounts to ban evade.

http://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8537 was locked because the mod Pjotr84 lacks comprehension skills.

He writes "Please put some effort, quality (and context) into your topics. Why is this even in HoB?" when that thread shows very much effort and quality in the sense that is not a cookie-cutter thread and that it actually demands a brain from its readers.

And to answer "Why is this even in HoB?": HoB has the label "Forum for In-Game politics, relations and matters of justice." so the thread was very much one that was written in the proper section of the forum.

I agree... But this is the world we live in here. Not sure what you think Complaining is going to do about it other than get yourself banned. This thread is not for rule lawyering.

If you post secret mystery school ***** that begs the question as to what the ***** it is, and clearly lacks subject matter or any form of a context, its going to get Hinnom'd. Period.

What's the context? All I see are quotes from various writings. How is that related to in-game politics, relations, or matters of justice? If you're going to argue why a thread should or shouldn't be locked, please be specific as to why it did belong there. Without context, it is meaningless to HoB.
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.
