Salem Crashing Constantly, not Java 7 / Enders related

Okay, tried 64 Bit Version of Firefox (Waterfox) too, doesnt work also.

Okay its gettting more and more terrible. Today i try now more than a half hour (!!!) to login with my new pc system. If i cannot fix this error with help, this game is really useless and no fun anymore for me.

Did you look at the crash report posted? It's nothing to do with the graphics (at this point) and there's been no reply on either staxjax's or my suggestion.

This works for me on my own desktop:

Internet explorer 9 64bit (I had to select this as default browser, because like the link I posted says 32bit version is set up as default)
Java 7 (latest update, v7 I think) 64 bit
Salem downloads fine.


Another PC of mine had java 6 32 bit and 32bit IE9
I upgraded to Java7 32bit and I am getting pretty much the same problem you are with the download hanging.
I have occasionally been tinkering with it trying to find a solution, but nothing yet, nor have I had much interest in doing so. However, I feel very bad for your situation and I will ***** around with it until I solve the issue and post the results here. Personally, I think it has to do with having multiple versions of java at some point and the windows registry pointing to the wrong settings. I plan to uninstall java everything on that computer, and uninstall all web browsers. Then install the browser of my choice, goto java website and auto detect and download...hopefully that will fix it, but who knows. I'll let you know later.

Tried to open it with Internet Explorer 64bit now too, doesnt work.. I have now 3 PC Systems here and tried all above, java 6 / java 7. 32 and 64 Bit systems. New Drivers Video Card - all have the same Problems here. I now dont think it has something to do with my PC Systems, could it be cause of Network / Router / Salem Servers or something like that?

Possible. Given the last error report you posted, there could be a configuration on your system that is causing that to post up. What kind of security software are you running? Does disabling it have any effect? (Report is something about verifying signed code if I'm reading it right.) What router are you using and have you checked the documentation on it for configuring any internal firewall settings?
