The reason was pretty clear, actually. Ikpeip was banned for a day because of his joining the recent football pic fad and then continued to do so right after his ban ended, right in the same topic even :roll:

The reason for the ban would be continued trolling of a thread after a warning had been issued.

Nope.. Completely false. No warning was issued prior to my ban. It was just a straight ban and I was suppose to "Magically" know that Ptjor had moved one of my pictures to the hinnom prior to posting another one of them.

the correct action would of been no action, without people talking trash and trolling these forums would be nothing.

i am reminded of potjeh making a moron of himself for a half dozen pages telling me how fat i am recently, next thing you know the index page shows potjeh and pjotr exchanging private messages and then 2/3 of the thread was removed ***** up the entire conversation in the process.

the idea of moderators is an inherently pointless one anyway, the forums level of toxicity has never even come near to a point that any moderators are needed at all and more often than not when you see "green text" in a thread it is nothing more than a skidmark representing a moderator ***** it all up.

well ok ... apart from my personal opinion, that eulogy threads are inappropriate in forums where the person which died does not have any relation to the game/subject of the forum i think that the OP did - in a certain way - provoke this kind of reaction: It is quite clear that we have some forum audience from North America here. Therefore one should at least aware that "football" is a description for two completely different games and state clear and concise what game one is talking about.

On the other hand I personally do not understand where the problem is when people describe soccer as a "game for/with gays", heck even Thomas Hitzlsperger has just made his coming out. And - at least from my observation - i did not see, that anybody of the banned people wrote that Eusebio might have been gay.

Just my New World Gourd on that topic.

I would also like to state that my main account Brona has been banned since like a week after I started. Its been roughly three months since and despite repeated inquiries about the ban being repealed I have only been ignored. HOW THE ***** WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT WAS THE CHEST HAIR OF SOME BUTTHURT LITTLE ****** AND IT WASN'T ALRIGHT TO POST!? It didn't contain his face or any personal details. It wasn't pornographic. It wasn't an objectionable picture in any way other than the fact that it belonged to one of the moderator's tea boys. Three months later I'm still banned because the moderators really don't give a *****. They sit around unfairly chastising the dwindling population of a game that most of them don't even play, and don't even do their real job as moderators.

Well this is an european forum, even if there's a lot of americans in. Football here is that game with a ball that is played with feet. It's obviously not "american football" or it would have been called it's proper name. ¦]

That said, what's happening in City Upon a Hill is far from always appropriate in this forum and in fact... that's the purpose of this section. So, there's no reason to judge eulogy topics inappropriate neither. It's a way to share somethings one cares about with others.
Saying that it was a provocation is completly stupid and it's even a troll in my point of view -_- We're not supposed to know that North America thinks "soccer" is a gay game, let alone that they'll troll an eulogy thread just because the dead guy was a "soccer" player. No one even posted a shut up Claeyt on Lou Reed's post and no one trolled it. So it's all a matter of respect for the dead person itself and nothing to do with the "kind" of the topic.

And for the last point, since respect is the thing this forum lacks the more, moderators are here to teach it to you kids with bans. More than "teaching" respect to you, that allows those who already have it to not be polluted by your crap. Moderation is wonderfull...

(Yes Darwoth, freedom of speech, blablablah, we both know what we both think about it.)

@Brona : bullying someone is stupid. Your account have been stupidly banned in return. Go cry alone somewhere else.

Shall we return to complaints on moderation now?

@JWhitehorn

You're right in saying that you were not warned before the ban. I initially removed your post and was still thinking about whether to leave it at that when I noticed you posted another. That's when I decided to go for a short ban, because you just went on trolling / disrupting the topic. People seem to think I moderated the topic because I had great respect for the deceased, because I'm allergic to the word "soccer" or due to the implied link between gayness and football. That's actually not the case; everyone can feel about football/soccer however they do. The reason I did something because you were trolling a topic discussing the death of someone, which is rather inappropriate and in poor taste. I apologise for not being more clear with the green; you're right I should have been and what's expected. However, you saying you didn't see the first post being removed, doesn't fly. Besides, as Magicman also implied, you could have shown a bit more grace in not posting it. In that it falls under the "Behave" rule, I think.

You can send your appeal to the mods. You've said that you did so in the past, but I never saw anything, so you might want to mention in your PM how exactly you did that back then.
