i don't really get how people like that get to go and decide things.

Only thing i can come up with is that they are obediant puppets of someone else, who put the words in their mouth during the election campagn and paid for it.

Welcome to human politics as it has existed since before the ancient Greeks. There are those who rule and then those who control the rulers.

Yep. Sucks bigtime.

Ive been thinking that there should definately have to be a IQ test that theese guys have to pass to prove that they are suitable for the job before they can apply for candidacy.
Also ban by law to take any donations monetary or materials to their campaigns from any investor/donator, to make the elections fair.

If it would be decided that donations would be still allowed, then they should be resitricted to a predetermined anmount of money that can't be exceeded no matter what.

IQ has nothing to do with common sense and decency. People that are mentally reta... oops, "special needs" will often have more common sense and decency than your average person.

FYI, this is a nearly 4 year old clip now, and one should probably read up about it. From what I read it was a failed attempt at a joke at the Navy's expense for trying to justify military spending in the Pacific Islands theater on an island barely bigger than the smallest of the Hawaiian islands. (If it truly was an attempt at a joke, I give the guy a 10 on delivery!)

Can't argue there about the IQ. I stand corrected, those things should not be mixed. However, some sort of common sense test then. Most people even if they mean good, they don't really get to the bottom of things, and usually their solution might help abit but not solve the problem and at worst it causes more problems. I find it abit tricky to put a label on who should be allowed to make decisions. The equation is quite long if we want to be picky.

I haven't read about it. idk really. But i can tell you i stopped to believe in humanity for a good 20 mins because of that clip. :D

So you both are rich ? That'd explain a lot !
