I imagine that there are folks that would give you a hand if you couldn't handle the noob **** in order to keep a good adversary in the mix.

not because i do not like the game, not because i could not reach the top again but simply because i do not have time to ***** around yet AGAIN doing stupid tedious newb *****. not to mention as a solo player it takes me several times longer to do everything that most take for granted. my island for example was a giant hill when i took it over from some retards i killed, took me a month and a half of eye bleeding monotony to flatten it since i had to develop characters, purity, infrastructure and so on all while constantly fighting other groups.

i have played pre wipe, post wipe and have started from scratch on all three servers making a top 10% character(s) on all three.

the constant wipes are why i no longer play haven and likewise the stated no more wipes after the last one here is why i picked up salem, additionally folks really need to give the stupid "glarp glurp BETA" ***** a rest as well, semantics aside the game is released. has been since it started selling items and became open to the public.

I appreciate the hard work you and other dedicated people have put into the game, the time it took, etc. And Potjeh has a point the the eye bleeding is an issue, but obviously painstaking effort has its rewards. I'm not saying there should be a wipe. I'd much rather see humours shaved off everyone, structure HP rebalanced, and all legacy items obliterated before a wipe. I don't relish the idea of recreating my humours, especially if those humours are reattainable with the new system. And that's why I don't think they will wipe. If 1% of the game's population is above the new assumed cap with the new system, why wreck everything? It makes more sense to create a curve to bring everyone into what will from now on be considered "realistic" numbers.

That being said, it is still a beta, and that point is very important. Given the difficulty of the game in building, terraforming, agriculture, etc, the devs should take every step necessary to try not to force a wipe. But should the game take a necessary turn that would absolutely require a wipe, then that's what should be done for the game to progress until it is actually released. It will suck, but if it institutes something better and couldn't have been avoided, it's the job of those of us who stay to roll with it.

And to be clear, I feel you would be a greater loss than Claeyt and, in the event of a wipe, would suggest you reform the Rangers of the Lumberwoods to get the early dirty work done rather than dodge a swinging metaphor.

I can agree quite heavily with you on this topic. Honestly there should be no wipe unless core mechanics corrupt the server; but not because people would be against it, but because learning the pros and cons of the new system occurs much quicker with present resources that would be obtained within it.

Oh, and yes. It would be a pity for Darwoth to go and Claeyt to stay. I'd honestly consider contracting a hit-man.

Never wipe plx.
Only wipe allowed is Jorbtar(d)[tm] wiping tears after being kicked in the ass by paradox.

Also the graphics scares me, it might be to demanding for a low end computers.

Given it will still be in OpenGL 1.5 (unless loftar has updated that without mentioning it), you should still be about to run it on a computer from around 2004 assuming the polygon counts haven't been pushed too high. I was getting around 10-15 fps on a AMD Athlon XP 2600 with 1GB RAM and the best AGP graphics card I could find (Radeon HD 3600--was bottlenecking at the CPU and memory throughput rates).

I just want to see a world wipe... same as Haven and Hearth...

Not just the world- but accounts too. Let's all start over with one account... re-register for the game and have a go of it. No banked alt material, wealth, etc...

Any new change will effect 'all' equally then.

We can finally see if the top players... can remain top players on their own merits...

If playing Haven hasn't given you this answer, then I don't know what will. The only players that don't remain or climb back on top are the ones that quit after a wipe.

I have only played Salem; but the "proof is the pudding"; it's my experience that the one's on Salem rule on their advantages from original release... not on true merit.

Wipe Tribe's alt matrix, wipe Candy Gang's Bink humors, etc... all are extreme examples... but if Salem wiped all existence of humus over zero % and forced players to start over from stratch under the current rules..

Current rulers who probably number <100 would quit (Because they couldn't handle losing their advantages)

And previous conquests >1000 would probably return to the game. (Because they'd finally have a change to compete on a even playing field)

Losing 100 and gaining 1000, ideally... 900 new or returning players sounds awesome to me... good time for it too... many of the best kickstarter games are still in development... after they release... this whole game will be pointless.

(That could have been the reason... maybe the servers can't handle a serious load and Devs didn't want to upgrade)... I don't know... maybe someone who played before everyone bailed can account for game performance...
Kudos to the vets; but they and the Devs (for not wiping the game) are standing in the way of game's future... much less putting more than a 5% load on the servers!
