And that is why Jorb is the Greater Spirit. He can checkmate Chief like nobody else.
Also, gotta love it when developers are willing to deal with a controversial subject like that, stay fair and impartial while addressing the concern of the community in public.
Chief is the bad guy here. There's no doubt about that. But he's always looking for that next creative surge and that's admirable. And with all his power and strength it's difficult not to become incrasingly corrupted. Especially when you have as much freedom as you do in Salem. Freedom to 1 hit noobs and average players even. It seems that nobody in the game can really seriously challenge Chief and sometimes a defeat is exactly what you need to recover your focus. Therefore, Jorb is in fact doing Chief a service by giving him 7 days to find himself and reset with nature. Last time Chief got a ban was for 30 days and he came back with a Wiki and a series of other initiatives! Who knows what is in store for us next?
Finally, I'd like to point to anyone who might be confused as to why Jorb is willing to take a lot of fights for Chief and protect him. Well, it's rather simple. Jorb recognizes that Chief is a product of Salem.
In other words, Chief is a child of Salem and severely immersed into this world. He has simply adapted to the environment of this game. Therefore, you can't really blame him for being a bad guy. He's just playing by the rules. ... Still, at the end of the day Chief, Darwoth and Candy Gang all could do a heck of a lot more for this game than they are. But really... They have a role. They're the bad guys. It's the good guys that there are too few of. Or "other guys" in general. Probably because the population is too low and probably because the legacy humus demotivates people and presents too big of a difference between those in power and those who want to be. But really.. It's a mix of everything. And of course too few patches is a part of it. But you can never have enough patches and you'll always find excuses. At the end of the day people are just weak, so what can you reall expect? Nothing much. Just what we have now. Old tyrants losing control and devs having to step in to try and keep things just A LITTLE in perspective. I wonder if things are ever going to change and someone, a benevolent hero leader will come out of the darkness. If not for long, then at least for a while so we can breathe some fresh air in this wretched world..
