Not exactly on topic of old Europe, but still nostalgia - I hate how EU is stomping out traditions in Croatia since it's recent admission. No more gathering of neighbors around a still to make rakija, and no more pig slaughter season. These festive occasions really knit communities together, through laughter and heated arguments and singing along while the accordion played. It's frightening how fast the abolishment of traditions like these is alienating people from each other. Oh well, at least I can rest easy knowing that it'll never happen here in Bosnia, because our government never gets anything done.

That is simply the New Order, destroying the Old Order(Old Europe).

Kids do, but the PC lobby in Holland and the UN have other ideas...

Ninja'd by Jorb, but yeah, it's quite the discussion here in the Netherlands. It drives me up the walls at times.

Departure of the last Sultan from the Dolmabahçe Palace in Constantinople. A star died in the heavens that day.

This is an excellent photo. I desire to have one hung on my wall. A grim day.

Do oversized maps of Tycho Brahé's estate count? I always liked old-school maps with illustrations and such.
