When I left this afternoon to go to the football game, this thread was on page 52 or 53, and that wasn't even the start of it. Are the pages this issue consumes necessary for all the ***** and accusations that have gone on? After the first statements and rebuttals, it really does start turning into spam and ranting. Sometimes walking away and thinking about it is really what is needed to get a proper look at the issue and time to discuss it with those who are in charge. If a person isn't willing to do that voluntarily, then we, as mods, have no choice but to enact a ban. You can then discuss it via whatever means are left (if any). I was already tempted at to issue short bans to just halt the discussion so things could be straightened out.
Decisions requiring a group consensus can't be made in a moments notice, especially when its an international group that has varying hours of availability.
I will note that it wasn't the mods that made the change in the rule. Or rather I should say, it was made with TotalyMoo and jorb's consent due to an issue that came up with another user. We discussed it with them at the time and the decision was made. If there IS any further issue here, we'll try to discuss it reasonably, but baseless accusations, trolling, and spamming won't make it easier to get the answers, it'll just get you banned as happened tonight.
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.JohnCarver wrote:anybody who argues to remove a mechanic that allows "yet another" way to summon somebody is really a carebear in disguise trying to save his own hide.
