As a new player, what is the point of selling such an item? Is it because of the multiple large numbers and the convenience it gives?

Established players buy anything really, including hay which is easy to make.
There won't be many (if any) established players atm but there is the silver shop now so people will have money to blow and if they want cloak and dagger they may buy this traders logs.

Yeah its a very good Inspirational. Given the current stake of the world I cannot justify buying these currently but rather go for a long wander through a forest yourself. Eat as much food, study as many items, teleport back to homestead
