As a big buyer of local goods I know exactly how much local food costs and it's really not that much more expensive. As long as you buy seasonally you can generally get produce for about 50% more than non-local and that's for the organic stuff. You have to go to farmer's markets and other places but it's not that much more for the good stuff with no out-of-country pesticides on them.
This is one of those topics that Jorb and I agree on. Globalism is one of the greatest evils of the last 40 years. It helps no one but massive corporations and tech companies. It's drained half of the good middle class jobs from Europe and the States and created jobs in countries with no Union laws, worker safety laws and with massive government corruption.
