Never give silver first and if you do, trade pieces at a time or give half

Silver always goes first, but you're right that you always split it up when you can.

So am I, but even so I don't know everybody, even if they know me. Of course this isn't for you Colesie, but for all our new players the general rules are:

1. Trade with trusted known merchants, or with Forum stall owners.
2. Always kin and memorize the person, If they won't kin, don't trade.
3. Silver goes first, then items. They have to prove they have the silver, you've been advertising the items for the last half hour, so there's a better chance you actually have the item.
4. split the silver and items and trade them piecemeal, never put all your silver, or all your items in at once.
5. If they do screw you, rename them (ex. Jeanne of Arc (Lying Trader) or Jeanne of Arc (Barrel Thief)) and describe them to anybody who will accept the description, like I did with the guy in the example. He's now a known thief, and most of the barrel merchants in Roanoke now know it. LOL.

With the unlimited access to alts its scamming heaven. Look in forum for traders. There are less forum alts so a naming and shaming here is worse than for random IGN.
