I object,

I knew the minute I saw the red dots on the radar, I was going to get screwed. The coincidences are too much to not blame the new guy. I joined the same night GH got hit, and the gates were open in the east corridor.
My version of the story - I arrived at GH tonight and went to work on flattening out the land on my plot. I was chatting with Trojanz in town when the raiders hit. They chased me initially, but when I stopped in the east corridor to block them with my body, they turned around and just ignored me. After they broke the town bell and began going after authority objects, I dropped all my silver into a pclaim to stop them from putting their own bell up. To stop from hinding GH folks who might log on later, I gave white-kin all permissions and gave the GH folks online my hearth secret (it remains the same, even now, so verify at your convenience).
The only things I can marshal as evidence of my innocence:
-I've no love for MM Tribe, and no motive to help them
-I've no past troubles with Gallow Hills, and no motive to attack them
-I did not seek out Gallow Hills to join, they contacted me
-If the Gallow Hills folks go back through the IRC logs, I raised the alarm when they attacked, and made a best effort to both report what the raiders were doing and see if there was some way I could hinder them
My reputation seems to be just another casualty of tonight's attack. At least for you guys, the characters killed in tonight's raid will be replaced in short order, as will whatever goods the MM tribe runs off with. If I had joined a day later, I would've been in the clear.
Faithfully,
-Paul the Paymaster
