To my good samaritan on Jamestown

Since i returned i've mainly been playing on my Jamestown char, with a better understanding of the gluttony system and which inspirationals to study rather than wasting them, it's been a lot easier and quicker to progress.

For the last week someone (unknown) has been helping me. Every day that i log on something new has been added to my little camp, they have built me a sawbuck, a tanning tub, a woodpile and had started on a workbench, on top of all this they have left me charcoal, wood planks, meat, fish, brains, skins and some awesome inspirationals.

Meanwhile i've been saving up my silver and collecting things to sell to buy the writ of homesteading.

Ten minutes ago i logged on to find it's all been stolen. :(
I'm not raging, it wasn't claimed, it's disappointing but it's fair game.
The charcoal, snake skins, wood planks and the tanning tub have all gone, along with everything of value i couldn't fit into my lean-to or inventory. At the moment i still have the sawbuck, lol, but thats probably gone by now.

I scouted around a bit and found some of the charcoal in baskets outside a small claimed camp just north of me by the waters edge. There are boxes and baskets on the claim but i don't have trespassing so can't access it to check, but I guarantee that's where the rest of my stuff is. The tanning tub is no-where in sight though.

So, to my good samaritan, next time you log on, could you please go and get it back for me and maybe kill the little thief if you are able. :D

Finally, I would also like to take this oppertunity to thank you for all you've been doing for me, it's been very much appreciated and encouraged me to play more often than I was before. Now you know who you've been helping it would be nice to know who you are too. You can always pm me if you'd prefer.

Thanks. :)

Just wonder if you suppose those goods as your property.

I'm not really sure what you are getting at tbh, in game terms the goods were collected by myself or given to me and were in my camp, so, yes, lol, I do/did consider them mine.

However, as previously stated, my camp had no claim, so fair game.

I could have, at any time, stolen stuff from the guy who did have the claim, he left a lot of stuff outside his claimed area, but I chose not to - hence my wanting revenge, or at least my stuff back.

Anyway, regardless of whatever point you are trying to make it has all been resolved now.

When i next logged in the remainder of my stuff had indeed gone, including the sign for my claim, which was a bit pointless considering it only contained 5 stones.

However, this morning I find I have a whole load of new stuff and the guys claim has gone. :D

I'm still none the wiser as to who my 'friend' is but i'm more than happy and now know not to store anything I may miss until I get my claim up.

Finally, to my helper, i've moved location, i've noticed quite a few camps springing up around me over the last couple of weeks and as i'm now back to foraging for sellable items and can't store everything in my lean-to I figured it's best to move to somewhere less populated. It's quite a trek from where i was, so, if you want to know where I am you will have to make yourself known to me. And, again, thank you. :)

I think he means that you say you didn't have it claimed so couldn't have been any scents for you to track your stolen goods, so you find someone else has charcoal whose close to you and immediately conclude he/she must have taken yours?

Actually I had more than just the charcoal to go on, I maybe should have included the other reasons i suspected him/her. Knowing that the person helping me would probably be able to access the claim to see, i didn't feel the need to go into further detail, just enough for them to know where i was talking about.
But for paulcrawls, you and anyone else who might be interested:
The two baskets that were removed from my camp, one of which contained the charcoal, were moved to the claim - they weren't there beforehand. Also two other items, turkey feathers and the makings of some low tier aspirationals were also there in another basket. (In the exact same quantities as well.)
Furthermore, the boxes on the claim that previously were empty or not filled suddenly were.
Hardly rocket science.

Maybe that'd your "good samiratians" claim. He was unaware that he was suing your lean to until he ported back from Boston to find that he was north of that. So he reclaimed his stuff.

Ever think of that? Or did you just think that some guy would work to improve yuor camp without ever meeting you.

Wow, what a concept... some random stranger leaving things for people. I've never heard of anyone that does that before. Of course, I agree with you. I think that Santa guy is a total BS story myself. :P
