He summon-killed himself, and quit. Good luck in your search, Sir.

I dont think he does look at the forums, hence the reason he missed the summon change announcement and nuked hisself.

It wasn't as much of a"rage quit" as some might think! I have no one to blame but myself. I still think the game is a ton of fun and addicting, but I just can't justify starting out solo again until more updates are out. That update really took me by surprise. I'm not mad or anything, as I can just pretend justice found me and killed me for the murder, which was always a possible outcome.

That doesn't change the fact though that the justice system is lacking for hermits. I don't like the idea of not being able to take care of your own business solo. If someone steals from me, I want to be able to steal it back or take care of them myself. Due to how the scent system works, if you are going to do anything including battery or above, might as well murder them as the consequences are the same. The difference in the scent linger only matters if you are attacking a base that someone doesn't hardly ever visit.

You have PMs disabled Ass_Kraken, so I can't reply to you, but I'll go ahead and post my reply to you here.

Aha! No hard feelings I hope. I did kind of regret killing you after the fact, but I was at a tipping point in Salem where, without friends playing anymore, thing were just getting un-doable solo.

What happened was, I was in the process of making a new base that was actually defended (lots of braziers) and walled, and that wooden fenced area was a "temp base" holding all my stuff until I could make the containers necessary at the new place. I got a little behind due to Borderlands 2 coming out and friends wanting me to play with them, so I didn't worry about the noobie base so much. I figured if it lasted that long, I'd be able to hang on a few more days.

As you saw, no defenses and not even locks, I was getting ready to abandon it after I moved. I never liked the base, but it was the place where I started with friends before they left. I typically left an alt logged in that base, but it's been there so long without problems that I just stopped doing it while I focused on moving my main around and another alt to setup a new base.

No base out west, was just a lean-to, which I had destroyed to portal in a different direction. Of course, you can imagine the look on my face when I got the death message. I would have been happy trying to fight off a group of people if they did find me, but me killing myself that way is pretty funny.

Anyways, did you store all the stuff into your mine? I kept trying to track stuff down, but it kept leading to the mine base. I found a base north that had a ton of wooden chests that looked like mine, but upon breaking everything, didn't find the only thing I was looking for (my rod set). Where are those rods? That 41% is worth a lot. It's not that I couldn't make more of them, but they had a sentimental value :p.

Anyways, all is fine with me. It's more funny than anything and I'm sure a lot of people are laughing at my noobie-ness, and I'm laughing with them.

Oh and for the record, I didn't know the guy who raided me was a neighbor until after I killed him. He was parked at a mine, not a base, so I figured it was someone moving into the area trying to take over. If I would have known it just so happened to be someone whose unclaimed base we (friends and I) stole stuff from when we started a month ago, I would have let it go. That's why I mentioned karma in my earlier post and said I have no one to blame but myself.

Really? Strange, I get warnings from moderators all the time.

Either way, interesting turn of events. And yes, the rod is on my vault alt.

Could be that you're inbox is full (no idea what the limits are on the forum, could be default, could be more or less). There's no way to disable getting PMs from mods/admins, but you can disable PMs from everyone else. Check this page (should take you to YOUR user control panel): ucp.php?i=174. Look for the line
Allow users to send you private messages:
Note that administrators and moderators will always be able to send you messages.

and make sure the "Yes" button is selected.
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.

I am sorely disappointed.
I never managed to figure out something clever for my signature on Paradoxplaza, and I doubt I'll do it here either.
