Why didn't you report those to the proper place then? Things reported here http://www.seatribe.se/bt/ give the dev's something to actually work off of, as well as the opportunity for you to check the progress of it and/or help with a fix. A pm in irc is the dry-hump of bug reporting, do it right.

It's also pretty obvious if it's a widely known bug, it gets fixed a bit quicker, usually. Especially if it's something similar to what happened yesterday, like you say.

Good evening,

I don't share your faith in the bug tracker. 1x1 fields and fields in mines lasted far, far longer than they should have (over a year, I believe).

Furthermore, I must draw a distinction. This was not a bug, but an unintended consequence of a combination of mechanics, which were individually working as intended.

Faithfully,

How critical were those bugs? That should clue you in as to why they were fixed at the speed they were. 1x1's also weren't as simple a fix as many would believe, btw, another reason why it took so long. Do you think if the waste claim thing isn't easy to fix, much like the 1x1s, that perhaps getting it on the tracker and making sure they were aware of it as soon as possible would be more important than using it to raid and THEN reporting it? Chances are, you still could've used it, since it would have needed to be fixed still. Nobody is going to shut the server down to patch it away a day before the normal updates come.

Pretty odd to me that Paul has more faith in an unanswered pm on irc as a bug report, rather than the form specifically made for reporting them. Maybe because it was unprovable *****?

Fun Fact: My thread wouldn't even exist had you done so, and MM wouldn't have been outed as bagousers. I'm perfectly fine with being attacked with bugs if those bugs are in some part of the process of being fixed, even if it's just the devs being aware of them. This IS a beta afterall. But since you failed to do so beforehand, it stands to reason you knew it was a pretty huge mechanics abuse and wanted to be able to use it to your advantage before it was brought to their attention and fixed.

Hahahah! Unintended consequence is almost the very definition of a software bug.

Too bad The Great Spirit knew about the mechanic and decided NOT to fix it. Should we report Cabbage Seeds turning into Coleworts instead of Cabbages? The Great Spirit knows about that as well?

Makeshift fences on a town claim is not a bug. End of story.

Colewort is a type of cabbage, so the seeds to indeed turn into cabbage. Not that it's in the least bit relevant, but there you go.

Makeshift fences under an active waste claim being immune to damage is a bug. End of story.

Then you would be wrong and there's an entire thread to prove it :)

Glossing over any relevant points, business as usual for da cheef.

In the spirit of that, planting fields isn't a bug so I'll go ahead and thank you for not bringing up 1x1s anymore.
