Some say that there goes 1 future potential player who just quit before he even understood the basic grasp of what this game is.

But we all know is... He's Called The Chief.

I wish you would quit but instead you keep trying to carebear the ***** out of this game. Go play farmville or one of the many other games catered to carebears like yourself.

And narrow mindedness like this is why the game is almost totally dead.

*As of this post(And current peek times in the MMO world)*
state up
users 46
chars 50
globtime 48640812
lastbeat 1351729734

YEA KEEP SALEM EXACTLY THE SAME AND DOOM IT INTO THE MMO GRAVEYARD.

Farmsvill millions of daily users, they are doing something right son ?

I really enjoy the game in its current state, combat, pvp, perma death, however i wish to play a game with a playerbase bigger than a guild i run in wow (100 members across 2 guilds). Thus to ensure the game grows some changes need / must be made, if they want a good size player base (1000+ daily actives), if some of these changes need to be "carebear" **** as you said, so be it. This game is not H&H, its SALEM IN DEVELOPMENT IN BETA TESTING. Seriously get over yourself and your narrowminded ness.

Im not saying remove pvp, i would quit if they did.
Im not saying remove perma death, i would most likely still play if they did, as long as there was weekly / fortnightly updates otherwise i would leave. (And a harsh punishment for getting "murdered" like -25% biles +prof levels, rather than being killed)

Im not suggesting DRASTIC changes to this current beta server, but some changes "MUST" be made which several people have made some very nice suggestions including myself about a newb island to introduce people to the concept of "Salem". Salem kinda has brought a whole new game gene to the market, and needs to educate new players accordingly who have never experienced this kind of game play before.

If even then, you refuse to at least this (newb island) kind of suggestions, it shows your just a retarded and want this game for yourself and a handfull of other players, and do not want a playerbase bigger than 50-100.

That is selfish as hell, and bad from a publishers point of view, imho. Even Jorb and Lofta must know this game with some right tweeks, good introduction to the new gene salem brings to the mmo world, this game could become huge and make the devs very rich. Unless they are happy doing as many others have said they do (sitting at home in underwear eating pizza and coding for the hell of it).

Who knows, only the devs, all i can do is push forth suggestions and ideas that i think can help drive salem into the big boys of games, that is what i would love for this game, nothing more nothing less, why not giving a flying rats ass what anyone thinks about my suggestions.

you are stupid, game has low playerbase because people have to play beta key bingo to even get an account and the game is less than half complete. haven and hearth with its being run out of a garage, 2d graphics and less streamlined systems were still rocking 800+ online before dev attention switched here.

to think this game will not have many times that at least when it has also been developed as long as HH is retarded and losing a character in that game was far worse than it is here, so your crusading against pvp is pretty irrelevant.

Read my post again dumb ***** and if you fail to understand it read it again and again, if you still fail to notice what i said, go take some basic english lessons and then read it again.

800 players is still "small" in the world of games i come from.

Hmm, beta keys.. Did not 10tonhammer give out 100 keys per day for 2 soild months + XX which were given away in alpha, more given away for first beta round, and more for second beta round directly from seatribe, then more from other websites ?

10,000+ keys, and <50 actives 2 months later.

Something wrong mate, if you cannot even see it well, trust me yea this game will live with 50-800 players (Your cap for h&h), that is very minor league and i see 18yr olds hosting bigger games from there parents basements. Kinda not worth paradox's time imho if the game expects to stay that small.

You could say "every game currently on the market" is less than "half complete", as they add endless content. You can only say its "half complete" if you know all the content that will ever be released.. ok so 40 players when its "half complete", 80 players when its fully complete. Lets be nice 100 players.

Like hell ill be playing a game with 100 players, as i said, i have run guilds with bigger member numbers, so ill pass.

I have personally set a deadline of Jan2013 to see an increase in player numbers by at least x5~20 of its current actives (At least 250+ actives at any one time, which we had 2 months ago.(And must be increasing daily/weekly by a factor of a minimum 5%) if that is not achieved sadly i will not be sticking around as a game with such small numbers really is not worth my time, and will most likely not last another 12 months.

800 people is more than enough for a game like salem, alas as said to you multiple times since the first time you opened your blow horn, maybe salem isn't the game for you?

800 active players at any given time of day on a "single server" i would be marginally happy with and could deal with.

We are not talking about that now are we, i would be happy with that on a single world, and with multi worlds it would make a nice size playerbase i would be happy to play with.

However when you start to say, 800 players across, 2, 3, 4 worlds ? that really is not worth my time, the game "is perfect for me", but sadly the size of the community is not (At this moment in time, and it seems to me it will not grow as much as you / others think or claim), so yes i will be moving along after my deadline if numbers are not up period.

Untill then, your stuck with me sadly.

Those are your projected numbers also, myself and it seems alot others have different projections of player numbers. Only time will tell and dictate our actions. Untill then, we are all helpless on the subject really.

As i said, all i can do is push forth suggestions, as long as i do that, my job is done in trying to help the development / improvement of this game. Beta tester right ?

The interesting thing about Jorb and Loftar that makes them different from other game devs is that they don't want to be game devs. They want to be social scientists and this game is their experiment. Haven was their Alpha testing.

Gentlemen (and ladies if there's any here), there's a discussion thread on the low population of the game. If you'd like to make a statement on it, try to keep it there.
I am a moderator. I moderate stuff. When I do, I write in this color.
