There's all this talk about the game being unforgiving and wilderness and whatnot, but in reality, it's still a video game where people are paying real money for items and that is Salem's business model. How I see it is, this business model falls apart when other players can deny the receiving of a purchased item in the area of item distribution. Sure we could argue that he did receive the item, but in reality, he was denied it. This is a serious problem and I hope that it gets addressed swiftly.

Boston is also supposed to be a place to cultivate new players. Yea, Salem is a harsh world and we all like it that way but there needs to be an area safe enough from griefers that new players can actually learn how to play the game before/while learning its harsh realities so that we can pick on them later, after they actually have lots of things for us to take!

Out in the wild, the purchased items are fair game, but if a centralized town is going to be used for distribution of purchased items, there absolutely cannot be a way to lose them right then and there from a griefer. Scypheroth wouldn't be the only one who would quit, I would imagine.

So my point is, town should be made safer from griefing and as suggested previously, I believe that there should be no looting around towns.

It's possible to do the exact same thing that happened here in many other games so saying Boston is a safe place to cultivate new players isn't fully true. I used to drag boss monsters into town squares in Aion all the time lol. Less harsh there but none the less. Once the item enters the gameworld it's fair imo.

I'm not sure a working as intended 'profession' in Salem is greifing people in town.

Right but there, people didn't pay for a 15 dollar item. They just were like WTF! and revived themselves.

Also, it's fairly public knowledge that in a little game called Darkfall, the griefers had eliminated pretty much any influx of new players into the game. In Salem, town training mostly kills newbies, and I personally, would like Salem to stay populated.

Granted, this is merely conjecture, but it has happened before.

The permadeath already scares off most people, there needn't be anything else.
