One kill in what? One month? I'd hardly call that taking them to task and winning a war, either. Don't they brag about being able to make a 200 humor alt per week? If I do the math, that means 4 weeks x7 or 8 equals about 30; minus 1 is 29. That means their population grew, not shrank. Sounds prosperous to me.

The problem is that you cannot predict accuretely without taking consideration towards the many unknowns that may have a large impact: such as how much time they actually spend in the game, how efficientely they pump alts, how much they've intentionally or unconsciously bent the truth.

As an example, you ought to be reminded that Colesie had previously announced to take a break to play Runescape.

Since there are so many unknowns and people can troll and lie as much as they choose to in House of Burgesses and City upon a Hill, the only real way to get any sensible measure of power or "progress in a war" is by counting relevant kills and destruction of relevant bases.

You do understand that attacking the people who obey a government when you don't agree with that government's policy is the definition of terrorism, right?

A true resistance starts with the people. If many people are paying the treaty, and content to continue to do so without protest, then the treaty is working and there will never be a resistance.

Now, a rival faction rising up and attacking the tribe and anyone they can, treaty payer or not, might be considered different. But there is no rival faction right now, because so far, the tribe and the treaty have been working well.

wonder what your reaction to this is? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4554 .....

My reaction was 'Meh'. I tend to believe ikpeip's assertion that he's been building a rep in order to later attempt this very poor example of anti-treaty propaganda. The guy had no screenshots, and though I can see him not thinking to take them at the time, why not run over there with an alt to document the results of the destruction and the skeleton? I'm going to need a little more proof of wrongdoing than one guy making a single, unsupported, frantic post on the forums.

What would the forums be if we can't live in fantasy make-believe land?

I hadn't heard it was 4. Only one I knew of was Coles.

Coles, Gemini, Anfros, and Eegore.

Never realized eegore was a part of GH. But then, is he paying the treaty, or has he actually become part of the tribe?

To be quite honest, if I were playing actively enough to settle down and make some decent silver in the game, I'd probably pay it myself. It'd at least get one potential group of griefers off my back. If I get serious about playing again, I'll be looking for a group to join, though. I spent long enough hermiting in HnH. While it's interesting, it gets old after a while because everyone around you that hasn't had contact with you sees you as a threat, and making contacts is a tenuous situation at best.

Then again, it could be fun trying to play cat and mouse and see how many holes I could chew in the fences before I get caught. ;)
