People don't like feeling helpless or taken advantage of. If you are forced into a position of weakness, being forced to pay into a protection racket or losing all your work (in a game that is nothing but grinding) or dying (again) you will have to either recognize a massive flaw in the design of the game you have sunk time into or rationalize the behaviour of players the game allows to have that sort of power over you.

I did this.

There is definitely a return on funds invested. People who pay the treaty don't get raided by the tribe. Anyone who gets raided by someone else, gets justice along with whatever goods can be located and returned, plus more, quite often. Of course, that hasn't happened much recently, because the tribe has also been very very busy removing anyone from the server who is capable of raiding and is not part of the tribe.

For a few months now, no one has posted anything about a raid in Plymouth that didn't involve the tribe, meaning that no one else is raiding. The server is pretty much safe for anyone who pays the treaty. Pretty good return for a dangerous permadeath game, I'd say.

LoL So you would have the people of the forums believe that there are magical scents out there that we just don't know about from magical raids that nobody decided to notify us of to get justice? I'm not buying it.

Not everyone pays the treaty. I'm not announcing what places have been stolen or raided so believe what you will.

Niether is anybody else. The most probable cause.... The fact that it isn't happening.

Nah bro, the most probable cause is the realisation that if such raids were posted, you actually would find the scents.

This comment misleads people into thinking you play this game.
