if you are part of the newer gaming generation you just wouldn't understand.
if you are part of the older gaming generation and still don't understand it means you have undoubtedly played numerous pve servers, probably make a new name each game and find a new guild to play with.
in the good ol days when we didnt have shoes and had to carry our 486 up the hill in the snow with wolves chasing us your online persona travelled with you game to game over years and years, you played with and typically against the same group of friends/allies/rivals in each new game over years and years.
it was not an "insert game" community at that time, it was "the mmorpg" community and everyone knew each other regardless of if the game they were playing was the same as the one you were currently in.
then warcraft came along and ruined everything by ***** out millions of incompetant retards that had no concept of anything like pride in your k/d ratio, screenshotting their kills, guild loyalty and so on. now you will find an old school gamer from the days of muds and harsh rulesets maybe 1 in a 1000, and a pk one far less than that.
