Oh wait nobody was killed and no scents were left.

So I guess this was like finding a bear cub and then going through the pain and hassle to roll around in a bunch of your own poop to make sure you don't leave a scent. Then go into the bear cubs den and steal some of the grass that it sleeps on.

The sad reality is the Bear Cub most likely never noticed and you went through all the time and hassle to not leave scents and sneak into its den for nothing. Meanwhile Mommy Bear is sitting back and laughing at the thought of how excited you must have been rubbing that poop on yourself.
