if you can "just walk in" what was the point in building it? or is it like one of those haven corner traps where you can walk in but not out?

That was the beauty of it. You could simply walk in and out, but it was not obvious that you could do so, and at first glance it looks like an impenetrable bug-abusing vault, when it really adds absolutely no protection.

Plan codename: "Get auth objects fixed"

Plan:
1) Make alt.
2) Make illegal vault.
3) Get chief attention with vandalism.
4) Make tribe cry to devs cause of vault abooz.
5) Profit.

Day #1 (Bonus day cause of unpaid claim upkeep)
Reservation Bell goes down.

Day #2
2 Windmills goes down at Reservation. Tribe gets mad and tracks vault location.
Unfortunately they are too 'KillerTomas' to see that they can walk inside.

Day #3 part 1
Perpetrator wokes up without Blood cause of tribesman summoning and stomping him through wall.

Day #3 part 2 (~4-6h later)
Vault dweller mobilizes tribe a bit more so they will contact devs for sure. Smelter and anvil at Reservation goes down.
...
Vault dweller gets summoned and killed somehow. Either Chief ImSmarterThanMyBraves checks the vault by himself and see passage near bell or walljump exploit is used.

Plan for next days:
Day #4-6
Destroy random stuff at reservation each day. In last day pick up fights with braves till death.

Outcome:
Great success!
Getting fixed: sled, clay trough, auth and possibly stone boulders exploit vaults (3 more bugs fixed than planned!)
