I'm surprised we havn't seen screenshots of the tribelands, surely it's been discovered already. I'd really like to know what this cutting edge base design is like.

If you have 5 or more bars on hand it's time to build a brazier.

At the very least, they had to trespass to take your stuff, so gather up those scents and get your revenge. (or give them to someone in town to take revenge for you)

If Stone Hedges are too much work, then make a split rail fence. (keeps out noob raiders who don't have waste yet)

Another stopgap measure that you can consider (if building a full wall is too much for you) is to wall in some 1x2 areas and build a couple brazers in each. Sure, it won't keep your base perfectly safe, but it does tie up your iron so raiders can't steal it, and also will still be useful later on. (since the harder it is to get to your brazers the better)

Instead of hording 30 iron, you could've built 7 brazers. If you had built the brazers instead of hoarding, then the raiders would've gained less profit from raiding you, and they would either need waste to break the braziers. (or at least it would take a lot more time running away and healing up)

If you're not going to use the mats, then don't make them. Hoarding is always a bad idea.

P.S.
My current claim is about 25x40, and I have room for pretty much everything inside the wall. It took me 4 days to wall it off. (I only actually worked on the wall for 2 days, with a day off between each) If I need to expand, I can always flatten and wall off more terrain later.

From the picture you posted, you could've walled off a fraction of the area, and still had plenty of room. If you needed more area later, you could build new walls then. Instead you bit off waaaaaay more than you could chew, and left your wall unfinished. Lesson learned for next time.
