You felt the need to edit/censor out one of my posts, even though there is already a word censor in place. I feel like those who say that others don't know what censorship is don't know what censorship is.

You felt the need to edit/censor out one of my posts, even though there is already a word censor in place. I feel like those who say that others don't know what censorship is don't know what censorship is.

My duty to delete or edit some things does come closer to censorship than my other duties. However, censors edit or ban independently based solely on whatever the institution they work for currently thinks the people don't need to see. I, on the other hand, do what I do based on clearly posted rules which you are free to read before you post. In addition, if you ask me why I removed something, I am always happy to explain; something you won't see associated with censorship.

In the case of your post, it was extremely abusive and off topic besides, so you didn't even have the marginal excuse of being prodded into it.

What's wrong with being compared to Hitler ? A forum is not a democracy, it's a dictat, and you are part of the dictat governement. Therefore you are a dictator. Just like Hitler or Stalin, cause they are the most known ones. That's how things work, if it's not of your taste, change your rules and be back to the nice policeman you used to be instead of a dictator... *smirks*

Reason for ban could have easily been spamming in the mod complaints thread, one of the few threads on this forum that are supposed to be spam free. Want to make a legit argument? great! want to troll, spam, or otherwise disrupt? do it elsewhere or get kicked. Orcling probably would have gotten a less-harsh punishment if he hadn't already been told to knock that sort of thing off.

Yes, it is/was at some level. You missed the other actual fact I stated: multiple bans had already been issued for rules violations. I'm not saying this one was right or wrong. (Fact: he was trolling/derailing where he shouldn't have been. Does it really matter if the cop wrote the wrong ticket if evidence shows guilt?)

Think of it this way: getting banned here is like getting kicked out of a strip club. You might think your freedoms are being stepped on because you can't do whatever the hell you want, but it really is for everyone's safety and sanity. If you guys want a censor free forum, go back to /b/.
