It's common practice on all forums and MMOs that bans are not discussed in public. They can be discussed in private by people directly affected by the ban. I assume that's what they meant by discussing in-game punishments in PMs.

The practice isn't unfamiliar to me although I still don't agree with it, but the way I read his post I assumed he was implying that there would be no discussion PERIOD (PM or Public). Although he did post that before Meow made the new rule I believe.

Either way, do you agree that it would be a simple thing to just explain what terrible things he did that was seriously worth a 6 month ban? I don't see why they care about shaming him or something considering we just went through the ***** that was the Hat scenario and they were fine with shaming him then and of course adding a 6 month ban from the forum and game on top of it. They are just filled with excuses, and like you said, he is good at spinning things in his favour.

If I hadn't kept continually bringing this up I don't think they would have added that rule. (yet)

You've already been told quite a bit. These people:

Orcling
Claeyt
Brego

Were punished for these things (in no particular order):

DDOS Attacks
Attempted Blackmail
Overly offensive and repeated use of Racial Slurs.
Town Spamming/Racial Slurs.

That is more than you really should have been told, but John thought it best because of how much the forums were impacted and because no one had been punished in-game before for things they had done. Claeyt received a 6 month ban, use your imagination.

You keep trying to talk about this and I have already been far too lenient with you because it was a new rule. If you do not drop the subject now, you will receive a ban.

Claeyt is not a computer genius as proved by his client incident, we can therefore rule out DDOS Attacks. He wouldn't use racial slurs directly, so can rule that out as well

He would most definitely be the town spamming guy spamming about how he was "unfairly" treated and he very likely attempted to blackmail because he has attempted that many times before against other people.

Case solved.

It's pretty sad if someone has to dig things up, especially out of Skype (because why skype matters so much I don't know), just to find proof that the reasons for a ban might be legitimate.

He was banned for 3 days here: http://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10072&start=20#p138120 when Realak claimed neored9 must have been facebook stalking him to know is real first name. However, Realak has posted links here to pages that contain his real name, so this isn't bannable.
